SERVICES
Administrative service
The coordination of the financial and administrative functions is carried out by the hospital's administrative service, as is a large part of the transactions with the public. Its premises are in the hospital's Administration building and they include two amphitheaters which are used for conferences, lectures, meetings etc.
Medical service
All the doctors (psychiatrists and doctors of other specializations) as well as trainee doctors comprise the main bulk of the medical service that work in intramural and extramural units of the PHT. The staff also includes the paramedical staff, the psychologists and the social workers.
Nursing service
The nursing staff comprises an indispensable part of the multi-professional team that works in prevention, medical care and the restoration of the mental health of people facing mental problems. The nurses of the PHT, a great number of whom have obtained the mental nurse specialization, staff every unit of the PHT. The Health Visitors also belong to the staff of the nursing service and as members of the multi-professional team they play an important role at the stage following the discharge of a patient from the hospital
Technical service
With organised technical teams and staff covering all specializations, the Technical service monitors and maintains every building and area of the PHT preventing damages, dealing with them and repairing them. A series of actions that are gradually carried out reassure hygiene and safety in the work environment.

For psychiatric hospitalization at the PHT, the following function :
- Four units for short-term hospitalization
- Two university clinics (Α΄ and Β΄) for short-term hospitalization
- Four units for long-term hospitalization
- Four units for long-term hospitalization
- Two psychogeriatric units
- A clinic for organic psychosyndromes

In the pathology clinic a cardiology unit also functions with a laboratory for ultra-sound heart examinations.

Areas for exercise
 On the premises of the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki a fully equipped gym functions covering the important need for maintaining or regaining fitness for people to whom the hospital services are provided.
The responsibility for the function of the gym belongs to the athletic instructors of the PHT. At the PHT there are also a fully equipped football pitch and a basketball court.
The Library of the PHT
The library of the PHT is a lending library for any interested individual inside and outside the PHT. It has about 2000 volumes. They cover subjects of psychology, psychiatry, neurosciences as well as other medical sectors, books on nursing and paramedical specializations. The library's aim is to cover the scientific needs of the hospital's staff, although it is also open to the general public (students, health professionals, etc.).
Its services include: a reading section, a lending section, ordering articles through the panhellenic network of cooperation between scientific libraries of the National Center of Documentation offering the opportunity to find and order magazine articles that are not included in its collection. The library subscribes to 178 foreign language magazines (mainly in the English language) and 23 Greek magazines.
It is located on the PHT premises in the Acute Incidents building, 2nd floor.
